The moon was beautiful Saturday night! DH and I were up late watching movies and I happened to notice how bright the moon was coming in the window. DH wasn't too happy about me digging around in the garage to find my tripod at 1 in the morning. But worth it, I thought! I'm pretty happy with how this shot turned out considering I took it in the city. Next time I plan on watching the lunar calendar for the next full moon so I can be at my mom's retreat in the country and get a crystal clear view.
I was at my Mimi's the other day and in showing me something in her closet, she set this little box purse aside to throw away. I snatched it up immediately! It was something she made when she was younger, before she met my Popaw (which makes it 51+ years old). Looks like altering runs in the family! She made this little box purse by adhering yellow paper squares all over and then cutting out images from special greeting cards she received and adhering those on top. The inside is lined with pink felt and then it has a round mirror on the underside of the lid. I need to re-line the inside as the felt is coming off and the hinge on the back of the lid needs to be replaced. But what a neat treasure! I'm going to fix it up for my daughter's room.
Speaking of my daughter, last night (well, Monday night since it's after midnight now) she went to snuggle DH in bed before I put her to bed. I was online checking my email and after a while realized how quiet it was. I went in there to check on her and she and DH were both sound asleep. It was so precious!
Well, I'm going to finish up on the computer while I finish watching Shark Week tonight. Twyla is playing with my hair and trying to drink my chocolate milk. She's just raring up for the nighttime! Not me though... 'night!
Oh, and I added two canvas projects to my [Altered] album over there on the right of the screen. Thanks for looking!
How cool about the box! What a tresure indeed!

Love your picture of the moon! What a great treasure to still be able to keep in the family.
