Today my friend Stacey and I went to First Monday in Canton (huge flea market/craft fair for those who don't know). I absolutely LOVE junkin'! Love digging through all the junk for that special treasure and then trying to work a deal on the price. Bringing it home and finding a special spot in my home for it. I just love old stuff and its character. Anyways, here are my goodies I got today!
Before I get started, here's a picture of Kaleigh and Nora right after we first got there. They look so sweet here but they were little terds before the day was over! LOL
My first find... these cute little wooden birds, $2.50 each. :)
We have a computer armoire in our living room for Kaleigh (once we get her a computer up and running). I've been needing to find a chair for it. Got this one for $10. I think I might paint it red and distress it and add a cute chair cushion. Then I needed a little table for it. Got this for a STEAL at $5. It was marked $15 but before I could even ask about it the guy said I"ll let you have it for $5. Before I could even respond Stacey said *She'll take it!* LOL I need to get a new knob for it (not digging the cheapo brass one!) and add a lamp and picture frame or something.
Some old shutters. I put them on top of an armoire in our living room. Not sure yet what other decor will go up there with it.
And old rusty red bucket. I want to get some silk hydrangeas for it.
I collect these old mason jars with the zinc lids for my studio. I love storing buttons, ribbon scraps, etc. in them.
And old picture frame and a wire picture frame (you just insert a picture in the slots - thought it was kind of cool).
Some odds and ends... I collect old cameras, a rake to hang my vintage kitchen gadgets from, some Boggle letters to spell FAMILY in my printer drawer collage I'm making, some Christmas cookie cutters (I saw a cute idea hanging cookie cutters from ribbon so I'm going to hang these in the kitchen window at Christmas time), and an iron bird piece with hooks (I'm going to paint white and hang in Kaleigh's room for her necklaces or something).
Metal garland with acorns that spell out BLESSINGS. I was going to hang it from an old screen on my mantle but the yellow star gets in the way. So for now it's hanging on the mantle itself... not sure yet if I like it there or not.
A wooden pumpkin (about 10" tall) to go in our front flower beds for fall. I thought it was super cute at $5 and she personalized it for free. :)
And I got this lamp the other day at a children's consignment sale. Not sure yet where I'm putting it but it was too cute to pass up!
you got a lot of great stuff Shannon!! loving those jars!
