Sunday Seven

Wow, I haven't done my Sunday Seven in a few weeks now but I'm trying to get back on it. Here we go!

1. Today was Kaleigh's dance recital. She did so well! She LOVES dance and she LOVED dressing up today... the costume, the hair, the make-up... she was in heaven. LOL She's just too cute but she's growing up too fast! This was her 3rd year of dance so she got a 3-year trophy. She was very excited about that!

2. Bree is teaching the July *Project Freak* class at Scrapfreak. I've seen a preview of it and am very excited! I can't wait to participate. It looks so fun! Be sure to stop by and join in!

3. Transformers 2 comes out Wednesday!!! The 3 of us are going opening night to see it! We can't wait! And the new Harry Potter is just under 4 weeks away! WOOT!

4. It's too freakin' hot. As I've become an adult, summer has become my least favorite season. It's just too hot and humid here in Texas and I hate sweating. I'm usually trying to rush through it to get to fall. But now that Kaleigh has started school I'm not ready to rush right through summer. I'm liking our break... no alarm clocks, no bed times, no schedules. So I guess I'll just have to learn to like sweating. LOL

The Clutter You Can't See

6. Today was Father's Day. Not so relaxing for hubby sitting at Kaleigh's recital all day so Kaleigh and I have a special day planned for him next weekend. ;) Thanks, babe, for being an awesome Daddy to Kaleigh. We both love you more than you'll ever know!

7. Well, tomorrow starts a new week. I have alot of things I'd like to accomplish this week so I'm *aiming* ;) to stay offline all day and just get online late in the evening. We'll see how I do. LOL I hope everyone has a great week!

My Big Exciting Scrappy News!

So I mentioned on Scrapfreak that I had some big exciting scrappy news and I sent them all in a tizzy because I made them wait. So sorry, Freaks! But it's finally been revealed at Jessica Sprague so I can share now. :)

I've been on Crystal Wilkerson's CT at 2peas the past few months but she now has a new home at Jessica Sprague and I was offered a position to be on Jessica Sprague's FIRST ever CT!!! WOW!!! I'm beyond honored and excited and nervous. I mean, come on... this is JESSICA SPRAGUE! :D I got to *meet* Jessica yesterday in an online chat to meet her and the rest of the CT and she is SUPER SWEET and so cool (I was in my corner in awe of her LOL). I'm so stoked about this.

Anyways, there are lots of new fun things going on at Jessica Sprague. Her site is turning 2 so next week starts the Two-Year Birthday Bash with lots of fun including daily freebies, challenges, a 20% off everything sale, and a new free photo-editing class!

My New (and MUCH shorter) 'Do

Alright, I said last night I was getting my hair cut this morning. I wore my big girl panties and took the plunge and cut it off. I even have bangs which are weird getting used to. I haven't had those in forever. I'm still playing with it a bit to get it just right. What do you think?

Spring Storm

I love love LOVE thunderstorms. I love the smell of rain, the flash of lightning, and the roll of thunder. But we had one yesterday evening and it was a bit scary. I was at my parents' at the time. They live in the country and when the storm knocked out the power and my cell phone was hit or miss for a signal I was a bit scared. It was pouring so hard, the wind was howling, and the thunder was really loud. It was very nerve wracking. My husband called me from home when it hit there and said the sirens were going off and trees were down. My friend, Monica, texted me and said they were taking shelter in the closet and had heard a tornado had been spotted. It really was a big storm. After it let up I drove home. I saw debris all the way home. Our power was knocked out for a few hours, and I came home to hubby sitting in the dark by candlelight. Today I got out for errands and I cannot believe the damage. Every other tree has either fallen over or has limbs snapped off. Fences are down. Power lines and light poles are leaning or are all the way on the ground. Roof shingles litter our yard. Just craziness! We haven't had a storm like that in a while, and I hope it's a long time before the next one. I want to go back to enjoying them!

Here are a few pics I took on the drive home from my parents'. There was a beautiful rainbow, and I was glad to be in the country where there aren't houses and power lines to block the view. And there was so much texture in the clouds that they looked cool. I tried to get a shot of the lightning bolts in the distance but I never could. :( Anyways, here they are. :)

Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoyed them. :) I've been in a blogging funk lately so I hope to start blogging again soon. We started our summer break this week and I'm so excited! No more alarm clocks, no bed times, no schedules. YAY! We have lots of little things planned for the summer but nothing too major as we love the time off to relax. We're gonna do a few summer reading programs through local bookstores and our public library. I'd like to find an art drawing class for Kaleigh. We might do summer dance lessons. Normally we take the summer off from dance but Kaleigh's teacher thinks it would really benefit her to keep her going as she's done so well this year. I have a couple more days to decide yay or nay on that one. Plus we have lots of swimming, snocone eating, visits to my parents', and definitely lots of crafting/scrappin' together (I love that Kaleigh and I can share that). I hate the summer heat but love the carefree time of year. :)

I have some potentially exciting news to share in the scrapbook world but can't yet. And I have a hair appt. in the morning. I think I'm gonna be brave and go for a new look. I'll keep you posted on both. ;)
