So my menu planning didn't go exactly as planned last week but, hey, it was my first week to try it. We did eat two of the meals I planned. The other 3 were cancelled due to... 1 night hubby wanted pizza while we watched our new movie, another night he had drinks with the guys from work and got home late, and Friday night neither of us were in the mood to cook. So I'm gonna have a go at it again this week and see how I do. Baby steps, right? :)
Monday - leftovers as I have training tonight for my new business
Tuesday - Slow-Cooker Enchiladas (from my Fix-It and Forget-It Lightly cookbook)
Wednesday - dinner at Hard Eight BBQ for hubby's monthly Jeep meet
Thursday - Creamy Shrimp Alfredo [from last week's menu that we didn't eat]
Friday - Chicken Florentine and Farfalle (a frozen bag dinner) [from last week's menu that we didn't eat]
Now, onto my latest thrifty finds. Friday, my Mimi asked me to take her to CCA, a local thrift shop, to browse. We love these trips together. Here are my goodies I found. :)
I found this cute little frame for $1.19. I'm going to remove the picture, paint the frame black, and make a silhouette image like this of Kaleigh to frame for my studio.
I got the ceramic teapot for $5, the enamelware pitcher for $4.19, and the two wires baskets as a set for $1.19. The teapot is a very close match to my dishes; I'll probably use the enamelware pitcher in my studio as decor/storage; and I bought the baskets because I liked the round one. But the little shopping basket one might be perfect for sugar packets in the kitchen. :)
I got the round basket thing for $3.19. I have no idea what I want to do with it yet but it was too cute at that price to pass up. I'll paint it and stick somewhere in my house. If you have any ideas for what I can do with it, please share! And the lamp was $2.19. I'm going to paint it a cream color and get a red shade for it for our living room.
I'll be sharing my treasures over at Rhoda's place!
I can't wait for when fall gets here and school starts... I'll be dropping Kaleigh off at school on Friday mornings and hitting the local garage sales. And speaking of thrifty finds, the World's Longest Yardsale is this weekend. I ***WILL*** go to this one day. ;)
Shannon, so glad you joined in the party today & nice to meet you! I wish I could get around to everyone more often, but it's just getting impossible, but I sure love to share with all of you & see what all ya'll find too. This party is a highlight for everyone each week. Hope you'll stop by often!
