Digi Goodness

Since my studio is all packed up for our move, I've only been able to digi scrap lately. While I miss playing with paper, I've had lots of fun playing with goodies from JessicaSprague.com.

First, here are my latest 3 digi layouts for Jessica Sprague's Creative Team...

I used Crystal Wilkerson’s Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Template #3 and the frame is from her November 2009 Collection. I used LivEdesigns’ Sing for Spring kit. (All found at www.jessicasprague.com.) The font is CK Ali’s Hand Official.

I used Orchard & Broome’s Bleecker St. Papers Set 1 and LivEdesigns’ Day Brushes. (Both are found at www.jessicasprague.com.) The fonts are Century Gothic and CK Ali’s Hand Official.

I created this layout using this week's sketch from the Sketchy Thursdays blog. The papers, leaves, zig zag stitching, cross stitches, staples, word art are from Crystal Wilkerson's November 2009 Collection. The orange scallop is from her September 2009 Collection. The circle stitching is from Template+ 7 by Jessica Sprague. (All found at www.jessicasprague.com.) The font is Typewriter.

My Favorite Things

In anticipation of our move, our cable and internet were scheduled to be shut off at our old house this past week. Since we didn't close on time we've been without TV and internet... the horror! ;) Luckily I'm at my mom's this weekend on her internet so I'm getting caught up on blog surfing. One of my favorite home decor blogs is 320 Sycamore and she had a Favorite Things Party on Thursday. I'm a few days late but here's my list. ;)

1. Gone with the Wind
I love so many movies but my all-time favorite is Gone with the Wind. And just in time for Christmas, the 70th Anniversary Edition is out. I already have this movie on DVD but I may just need to add the anniversary edition to my list. ;)

2. Voluminous Mascara by L'oreal
I had to laugh that it was on Melissa's list as well. I've used it faithfully since my sophomore or junior year in high school and it's still my fave.

3. Dr Pepper
It's my crack. That's all I can say.

4. Glade *Clean Linen* Plug-Ins
I keep these babies plugged in 24/7 and replace once a month. I absolutely cannot stand a stinky stale house smell and combine that with having 2 dogs I'm obsessed with keeping the house smelling fresh. I love burning candles and my Scentsy warmers but the plug-ins go non-stop. I often get compliments on how my house smells like fresh laundry and I love that. :)

5. Swiffer Dusters
Okay, I know these are so anti-green but I can't help it... I love these! So simple and easy for those weekly dustings. A quick vacuum and then my Swiffers and my house feels 10 times cleaner. And the Lavender Vanilla scent is yummy!

Note: In Googling an image of the Swiffer Dusters, I came across this tutorial for making your own reusable Swiffer Duster. I'm going to give it a try!

6. McCormick Slow Cookers BBQ Pulled Pork Seasoning
I love cooking with my crockpot and this is my favorite recipe for it. It's so simple and easy and DELICIOUS! I serve them on Arnold Select Multigrain Sandwich Thins (much thinner than a hamburger bun so you don't get full on bread).

7. Red
Not necessarily a product but I love the color red and it's the main color in my home decor. When I'm out junkin' I hone in on this color like a moth to a flame. If it's red I have to buy it. LOL

8. iPhone
I'm attached to this thing 24/7. It's the first thing I check when I wake up and the last thing when I go to bed. Serious addiction but serious love. I ***have*** to always be connected. ;)

9. Bling Tea
I got this recipe from my pastor's wife and I always serve it at parties and get-togethers. It's so yummy!
Ingredients
1-1/2 C. Lipton Sweet Tea with Lemon powder mix
3 C. warm water
1 (2-liter) ginger ale, chilled
Directions
Mix tea and water in large pitcher. SLOWLY add ginger ale to pitcher (as it foams up alot) and stir.

10. A Charlie Brown Christmas Soundtrack
With Christmas coming up I had to share one of my holiday favorites... the soundtrack from A Charlie Brown Christmas. I love listening to it every holiday season. Such a classic.

Girl Time

Kaleigh and I are spending the weekend at my parents'. My parents went on a weekend road trip on their Harleys and we're keeping an eye on the retreat and feeding their animals. Kaleigh and I have been watching movies, eating pizza, baking cookies, coloring, napping, playing on the computer, and just enjoying our girl time. We bought the movie, Annie, last night. I haven't seen it since I was little and this is Kaleigh's first time to see it. I love being able to share parts of my childhood with her.

So we've been singing along to Mamma Mia! and Annie this weekend. I love being the mom of a girl. ;) I am so blessed.

Friday Fill-In

1. We need toilet paper, toothpaste, and fabric softener from the store.

2. I rented a movie for Kaleigh tonight and she gave me a hug and said thanks and it made me smile.

3. If you want something bad enough, don't give up til you achieve it!

4. We didn't close on our house last week because of some stupid red tape but we finally get to close on Monday!

5. Massachusetts has a proposed 5% sales tax on elective cosmetic surgery; I think at this point I'd probably pay whatever for a boob job. ;)

6. Having our family together makes for a happy holiday.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching Annie with Kaleigh, tomorrow my plans include hanging out at my parents' and taking care of their animals and Sunday, I want to relax with the fam and watch the Cowboys game!

Friday Fill-In and Some Digi Scrappin'

1. The last band I saw live was Trans-Siberian Orchestra last Christmas.

2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is being with family and eating LOTS of yummy food.

3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is no where near being done.

4. Thoughts of hurry-up-next-week-so-we-can-close-on-our-house fill my head.

5. I wish I could wear a bikini.

6. Bagpipes are so awesome to listen to.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to chillaxin', tomorrow my plans include packing up the rest of my studio and Sunday, I want to watch the Cowboys game!

This photo isn't the greatest (it's a scan) but I couldn't resist using this border and this was the first photo that came to mind. :)

Friday Fill-In

1. Plans and schedules - sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't.

2. I'm happy when things are going well for my family.

3. The last thing I drank was a Dr Pepper.

4. One of the most valuable things in my life is my family.

5. I like extra cheese only on my pizza.

6. Dear November, I can't wait for Thanksgiving, yummy food, and counting my blessings.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to family movie night, tomorrow my plans include a baby shower and Sunday, I want to watch the Cowboys beat Philly!

A Side-Tracked Project

Today while packing I came across a picture frame I bought at a flea market a couple years ago. It was a neat piece but I wasn't crazy about the color (it had a weird speckly orange and black finish - you can see it here in this blog post, about halfway down). So I got side-tracked and stopped mid-packing to go craft. LOL Priorities, right? ;)

First, I spray-painted it an ivory color. Then I lightly inked some of the edges with black ink. I had a magnet I bought at Michael's a while back that said FAMILY. I wrapped some black and tan gingham ribbon around the frame and glued the magnet on top. Then I tied a little bow on top. Quick and easy and then I got back to packing. LOL

 

A simple project but since it's Tuesday I'll go ahead and share at Kimba's DIY Day. :)
