OMGosh, I haven't been junkin' in FOREVER!!! But I went this past Wednesday with my friend, Kandi, and we had so much fun. She took me to 2 stores she likes that I had never been to.
Our first stop was Golightly's in North Richland Hills. This store is to die for! So much eye candy and seriously walking through it just made me happy. I oohed and ahhed and squealed like a little girl through the entire store. :)
One of the first things I fell in love with. This bed was a beautiful turquoise blue. Kandi, has her eye on it. ;)
I love apothecary jars and I love old wooden printing stamps. What a cool way to display both!
Our bedroom is sage green, pale pink, and raspberry. The colors on this table just spoke to me.
I loved these flowers on this handmade collar.
Below was my FAVORITE room in the store. I was seriously happy in here and wanted to take everything home in this room. Just lots of cream-colored chippy paint, distressed wood, and rusted metal. Awesome junk market style! The next 8 photos are from this room...
I had my 50mm lens on my camera so I couldn't get the whole room in one shot but this captures alot of it. There was also a bed off to the right and on the left an AWESOME farmhouse table I would kill for if I had the room for it (it was long).
I love 3 things: chandeliers and lampshade frames...
I loved the paper flower on this lampshade. I want to do this now on one of my lamps.
I so wanted to take home this chest of drawers.
How CUTE is this wreath made from old mattress springs?
I love these old drawer fronts hanging on the wall.
Again that room rocked!!!
Upstairs was some cute Easter stuff.
Look at this chickie Easter basket! I wish I had bought this. :(
Okay, you know those boring, dated fluorescent light fixtures? They were all over this store but look how they covered them! I'm not really digging the fabric here but I LOVE the old screen suspended from the ceiling to cover it. I so wish I had one of those fluorescent light fixtures in my kitchen to do this with. Most people take them down so I don't think hubby would let me put one up on purpose. LOL
Another furniture piece I loved.
Just a cool vignette of old silver pieces. Love the suitcase it's all sitting on, too.
This was a tight angle to photograph so it's hard to show but I loved how they used old clip-on costume earrings to *tie up* this old curtain valance.
I'm too anal for chalkboards (I don't like the messy residue left when erased LOL) but I love the look. Very cool old door with a chalkboard message center.
I drooled over this Anthropologie-ish necklace!
Lots of old frames throughout the whole store.
More chandeliers. I can never get enough.
These would rock in my bedroom but the colors were a tad off.
And a shot looking down from the staircase. Look at all that vintage goodness!
I left with 3 goodies that I'll share later. ;)
Next we went to the Red Shed in Grapevine. It's tucked a block off of Main Street and I had no idea it was there!
Evidently it's a small antique shop and travel agency split between a small house and a cute red shed.
These Alice in Wonderland tea cups made from vintage jello molds were adorable! They have totally inspired me to make an Easter craft. ;)
I have this vision for the eating area in our kitchen and part of it involves hanging a shelf over my back patio door and window. I want a display area to put out all my old enamelware and other kitchen decor. I bought some iron brackets and was going to buy a piece of wood and distress/stain it to make the shelf. At the Red Shed they had similar shelves but they made theirs with half doors. I'm totally stealing this!
And some chandeliers out in the shed. I love their sparkle against the rustic wood of the shed.
Now onto my goodies I got from Golightly's...
An old oval mirror for a steal at $15. I bought it for our guest bath to go over the sink. But I'm going to have to repaint and restain it. I like the cream mirror but I need the stain to be black.
This old rusty hanger with metal clips. I'm going to hang old family photos on it and whatever other vintage goodies I can find.
These aren't old but if you know me you know I couldn't pass them up. ;)
And at the Red Shed I got this old door. I've been wanting one forever to make a headboard with for our bed. I can't wait to get started!
So there's my latest junkin' trip! We can't wait to go again. Gotta make a list of the other stores we want to go to and get them on the calendar. ;) And I'm so excited for spring and garage sales coming up, too! If you have your favorite antique/junk stores in the DFW metroplex feel free to share! :)
