Just wanted to share a few nature photos I took this week.
About an hour ago our dogs were outside and Kaleigh looks out the back door at them and screams something and runs outside. I follow her out and she's yelling *bad dog!* and has a hold of one of our dogs. I get to them and the dogs had a baby bird. They didn't bite it with teeth marks or blood or anything but one of them had it in its mouth. We get the dogs inside and the bird tries to walk off. I can't tell if it's injured or can't fly yet or what, but it's stressing me out. I'm a huge animal lover, and I want to help it but can't. It's currently sitting between our back tree and fence, and I'm hoping momma and daddy bird find it.
Any bird aficianados know what it is?
And we had a touch of storms this week. Nothing like what happened in Alabama and other southern states (still praying for those affected) but it was a bit scary Sunday evening when this storm blew in. The winds were blowing 65+mph and at one point the sirens went off. Luckily no tornadoes or anything bad. But I do love to photograph clouds.
Thanks for looking!
What happened to the bird? Do you know if it's still alive??

My friend, Monica, suggested it might be a mourning dove and all Friday evening I saw a dove hanging around in the trees above. But it was getting dark and the dove never came down or called out to the baby so I went to bed Friday night worried. It was still there early Saturday morning when I checked but when my hubby checked later that morning it was gone so I hope the dove I saw the night before was just waiting for daylight to help it. At least that makes me feel better. ;) I hope the little bird is okay!
