This evening the north Texas area was affected by thunderstorms and tornadoes. Luckily nothing too damaging and certainly nothing as devastating as those affected by tornadoes in other parts of the country this storm season. Nonetheless, it was a little scary this evening with the weather. The sirens kept going off and the TV was full of nothing but news coverage of the storms.
We put Kaleigh in the bathroom with the dogs and went outside one time when the sirens went off. I know... that doesn't sound smart. ;) But we wanted an actual eye on what was going on outside. We were out in the street when I looked west and saw a funnel cloud. I've never seen one in real life before and it was off in the distance and cut off from full view because of houses. We ran in the house and I grabbed my camera while hubby grabbed the video camera. It didn't last but a couple minutes from what we could view. I managed to get a couple shots.
This one was with my 50mm lens, and I put it in Program mode because my adrenaline was rushing and I didn't have time to mess with settings. Luckily, it still came out decent though.
And I switched to my zoom lens to get closer in.
Afterwards, the sky was so pretty in shades of gold.
And just five minutes later it went to shades of pink.
It was definitely an exciting night. I'm still trying to unwind. I pray everyone stays safe from the storms!
