The view from my 3-doors-down neighbor's yard.

 

Sadly you can see 2 more dying trees in our neighborhood. On the right side of the photo is a tree in the yard of our neighbor diagonally behind us. And on the left side of the photo is a dying tree between the houses of our neighbors 1 and 2 doors down. I hope everyone is keeping an eye on their trees and taking care of them. We have learned that new construction is hard on oak trees. I wish we had bought our house new instead of moving into it 3 years after the build. The previous owners evidently didn't care of their yard and now we have the task (and heartache) of trying to save it all.
